Our chapter is focusing on DAR Service for Veterans. We have created Quilts of Valor for presentation to veterans. We are also supporting the Golden VA Clinic and Fisher House. We are creating dementia activity pads for veterans who are in memory units.
We support active duty personnel as well. We collect items needed by overseas servicemen and women by collecting items that they need and support the Soldier’s Box project that sends these boxes twice a year.
We have two to three field trips a year. This year we had a tour of the Red Rocks Amphitheatre to learn the geologic, performance, and development history of this historic site. We also toured the Molly Brown House in Denver, Colorado, to learn more about this remarkable lady, and her impact on America and Denver.
Our goal is to involve all of our members, local and out-of-state, by finding what they enjoy and supporting those activities while addressing historic preservation, education, and patriotism.
Committees
Our committees are the base of our chapter’s involvement in our community, and give our members opportunities to serve DAR objectives that are most valuable to each person. Some of the committees we are excited to serve are:
